Ukrainians Find Refuge in Poland

Unum Poland provides aid and assistance to displaced Ukrainians and families

When 2.5 million Ukrainian families crossed the borders into Poland after Russia’s invasion, Unum Poland employees and volunteers opened their hearts and homes to assist those in need.

Since February 24, 2022, the day the war started, our employee volunteers have been unstoppable.

Here are just a few of the programs and partnerships created to help families who seek refuge and work opportunities.

Annual Food Drive: In partnership with SOS Foodbank in Warsaw, Unum Poland’s annual food drive donated 2,430 pounds of food to Ukrainians.

Together for Ukraine: The Unum Foundation launched this dedicated project where 200 volunteers helped those in need with financial support from the foundation. We were able to purchase and deliver medications and medical supplies, furnish a high school for Ukrainian students, organize local donation drives and assist mothers and children living in shelters.

Support Programs: Unum Poland has provided direct financial assistance to launch new support programs to assist Ukrainian people who’ve had to leave their homes.

Foreign Language Assistance: For Ukrainians who don’t speak the language, Unum Poland has promoted Polish Chamber of Insurance’s initiative to organize Polish language courses.

Medical and Legal Advice: Unum Poland is partnering with Mondial Assistance to organize services for Ukrainian employees. Mondial Assistance will provide medical and legal advice via a hotline and unlimited access to psychological and medical teleconsultation.

Our employees have big hearts and a passion for helping others. By extending a caring spirit, together we can make a difference.
